Mrs Jeanette Dixon

Growing curious minds!
Jeanette is currently a North Carolina public school teacher with over 20 years teaching experience in four different countries. She has also been a camp leader for over 10 years. Jeanette loves having the time to focus on the creative arts, outdoor learning, and authentic materials. She believes children become passionate about their experience when they collaborate and problem-solve using creative skills. Being a camp leader lets Jeanette focus on the best parts of teaching kids: hands-on, inquiry-based learning in a natural setting. She lives for the moments when she see her kids burst with pride about what they have accomplished, and tell her they can't wait for next summer so they can do it again!
Jeanette is also running the Scroggs' School Garden. Take a look at the following video.
News Flash: Jeanette has recently been awarded Teacher of the year for 2016-2017!
Jeanette's Camp Motivation
As a classroom teacher I always want to spend more time building and creating things beyond just pen and paper. Connecting kids and gardening is very exciting for children to have a hands on experience with how plants grow and be connected to the natural environment around them. Children need to play outside, explore and experience nature first hand. I'm very excited to be able to run a variety of camps to feed creative imaginations.
